Last night the PM has made a televised announcement and imposed another national lockdown, which involves also the closure of all educational institutions. GCSE and A-Level exams have been cancelled for this academic year. The PM hopes that schools may reopen after February half term. However, it is possible that they might remain shut until Easter, in April this year.
Comments: Unfortunately, these latest developments are a great concern to educators and parents alike. During the past 9 months children’s education in schools hasn’t been able to return to normality and this will have serious long-term damaging effects to children’s learning. Some have already defined it an ‘educational starvation epidemic’ which could create a generation of children lagging behind academically. Tutor on Target has proved an invaluable, high quality service to support the increasing number of children affected by this continuous disruption to their learning. If you believe that your child’s learning has been affected and tutoring is needed to support him/her, please contact us. We are here to help through face-to-face tuition as well as online tuition through bramble.io and Zoom.
